The inaugural running of the combined Shipyard Cup Classics Challenge/Boothbay Harbor Yacht Club Annual Regatta was a huge success last July! The enthusiastic response to this first annual event from racers, sponsors, and spectators points to an even more exciting experience this summer.
The 2021 regatta combined a perfect Saturday of sun and moderate breezes, followed by a challenging Sunday of driving rain and blustery winds. Huzza to the racers who enjoyed the thrill of the race and created the spectacle on the race course and in the parade. Our Saturday reception at Bristol Marine’s Shipyard at Boothbay Harbor will long be remembered as a very special evening in the harbor. The enthusiasm at the Awards Ceremony, boosted by some steaming hot jambalaya, capped a glorious weekend of sailing and fun for all.
We extend a very heartfelt think you to our sponsors, whose generosity made the event possible. We also heartily thank our volunteers for making the running on both days of racing and Saturday night’s reception seamless and smooth.
Congratulations to the winners and those who just came out for a beautiful sail in Boothbay.
Special Thanks to the Boothbay Harbor Yacht, Club, Classic Yacht Owners Association (CYOA), Gulf of Maine Ocean Racing Association (GMORA), Bristol Marine’sShipyard at Boothbay Harbor, Hodgdon Yachts, and Robinson's Wharf (our inaugurating lead sponsors). Thank you for the opportunity to bring this exciting event to the Boothbay peninsula.
We will see you in July!
